Checkin in w/LFW

Thanks Sukay, Yes, I am adjusting to the knowledge that she is leaving now. Plans are being made what we will do and handle things which has made me feel better as well. Lastly, while the idea of finding a new therapist for me was overwhelming given I would have to start from scratch and explain everything - and go know who would believe me not knowing all the players - I told my son's therapist who DOES know us all and the situation what was happening with our nanny leaving and gaining his advise on it for the kids and explained that I was having a hard time of it as well...and why....and how my therapist who I use to go to said he couldn't see me anymore because he felt more focused on my H now, he offered to allow me to come to him. I started sobbing on the spot and he was so sweet and compassionate. When I asked wouldn't that be a conflict of interest....he said not for him. He works with us as a family with our son, and seeing me individually was in line with that for him. I said I didn't understand why our therapist that both my H and I had seen didn't feel that way, leaving to feel quite abandoned, and he didn't know, and did understand my feelings of abandonment from that situation. SO....with that in place now, knowing he already knows so much about what is going on...I feel a sense of safely having him available to me. Therefore, I am in a much better place about it all.

We won't be telling the kids until 2 weeks before, and I have offered to throw her a going away party with all her friends and us so people will have a chance to see her for the last time. She was very touched.

Now....if work and finances could straighten out...I would REALLY be in an even BETTER place!!!!!!!!! I know we are not the only ones struggling, but doing taxes brought to our attention that once again....we spent out of pocket - 41K for medical last year, and that is WITH the top Blue Cross PPO insurance!!!!!!!!!! Augh!!!!!!!!!!!

I read your post about your nanny leaving a bit ago, so I'm glad to hear an update.  Sukay is wonderful to always be thinking of everyone .  Anyway, I wanted to reply to your post that day--but I ended up doing things around the house, and then school has been nuts!  UGH!

I am sorry that your nanny is leaving.  That is sad.  But I think that you are handling the situation very well.  I am glad you posted and reached out to HW when you learned of her departure.  We are all here for you.  I'm glad your counselling has been sorted out.  I also think your plan for telling your children is great. 

I cannot imagine the amount of money you spent last year on medical.  I count my blessings all the time for living where I do. 

You are in my thoughts LFW, and I hope that your stresses ease up ASAP.  Try to really enjoy yourself with the party.  I know it will be sad to say goodbye, but from what I know of you--it will be a great party (food etc...)!

You are handling this all so positively, even if maybe it doesn't feel that way to you. Finding a counselor is a feat, good work, and while I'm not sure why, my therapist once said that seeing my H and I would be a conflict of interest. I guess because she's paid to see things from my point of view and that includes and complaining I may have to do about DH. Whatever. You've got a good choice.

Throwing a party is a sweet gesture. Everything will work out okay in the end.

I know that number is shocking...isn't it! But that is what it is costing us. TOTAL insanity. While I would love those service programs, I don't think we would qualify. It is just a very hard situation. Let's pray this year will be better, because this is breaking us financially.
