I just recently started getting treatment for Bipolar Disorder. I started Lamictal about 4 days ago & i've been just incredibly dizzy. My big question is, does the dizziness eventually go away? I am just absolutely miserable b/c i'm so dizzy. I don't really have any other symptoms as of yet. I have been a tad bit queasy but my stomach's always easily upset. I know everything comes at a price but i'm terrified i'm never going to feel "normal" again.

Hi Im more,

Ive been taking lamictal for about 3 months.I only had semi serious side effects when I took about a 620mg dose instead of the usual 50mg a day or 100mg.My face was sort of like a mask and I felt dazed,dizzy.Im no expert but it should soon it probbly helps to take them with food also,I have learned.

Hello mem,

It did the same to me so much so that when i got some money from a cashpoint i was so disoriented i left £50 sticking out of it and someone pinched it.

It didnt get much better for me so i stopped taking it. But i had other side effects as well.

I hope it gets better for you mate.

Let me take a moment to welcome you to Healing Well first.

Most drugs are going to give you some side effects at first, and they should go away. Give it about a week. If it isn't letting up at all or gone then call the doc because it isn't working for you. You should already be beginning to feel some relief. I'm sorry you're not. Is Lamictal the only thing you're on? I had terrible dizziness with Effexor. But every drug is different for everybody.

right now lamictal is the only thing i am on. I see that many people seem to take a combination of meds

When I first was diagnosed with only depression, that was my first experience with any antidepression medication.  I was put on a very low dose of Lexapro...only 10 mg.  And I got so dizzy...so bad that my eyes were actually jerking with nystagmus.  It lasted for about a week.  Was worse the first few days, and then slowly tapered off.  So give it some time, your body is just trying to regulate it.

I take 100mg every morning and never had any side effects..
What is the amount or mg you are taking??

wow. Joxster wish that were me! I'm just starting out so i'm still on the 25mg dosage. I've had trouble staying upright let alone driving. I was getting sick to my stomach several times a day also. I had to stop taking it b/c i just couldn't function.
