New meds...trileptal

Why on earth do they have to make these meds so hard to pronounce, i mean really, were all the short words taken already? My doc gave me a new prescription today b/c i was having trouble with the lamictal. He put me on 300mg of Trileptal (Oxcarbazepine). I took Tegretol as a kid & tolerated that well & this is supposed to be a derivative of that. Does anyone have any experience with Trileptal? It may be silly for me to ask b/c as i've discovered we all react so differently to these drugs.

I got kind of annoyed with the doc today; i was trying to ask a question & he pretty much stopped me cold & more less said "who's the expert" here. Sometimes i misinterpret the meaning behind what he says b/c we come from different cultural & ethnic backgrounds.

I don't know anything about your med but I can relate to having a pdoc from a different cultural background. Mine is eroupean of some sorts and it is a little ackward sometimes.

My H & Son take it, they both have been on it several years and do just fine with it. Never a problem. Hope that helps to know. LFW

Ahhh, after trying many different meds for 4 years my pdoc finally introduced Trileptal to me. It was the first drug that finally had me stable after finding the correct dosage. I have been on it since April of last year. I'm feeling Great!

I am also on Wellbutrin along with meds for sleep, and a med for anxiety when needed.

I hope you have the same reaction I have had.
