stopping meds cold Help

Maybe someone can help me hear.  I have no health insurance or Rx plan. Money is very

tight not even enough to pay rent and put food on table. I am on Lamital, cymbalta,

trazodone, valium my doctor has no samples so I am at a lost and have to stop

everything, I know something wont bother me but the others is going to give me

a withdrawl so bad.  Has anyone gone through this, what should I expect.

I'm scarred.

can anyone help me get through this............

Oh my goodness, what a bind. I've never had to do it, so I can't help you there. All I can do is offer support. I do know the government offers a prescription drug plan and many of the major drugstores (like Walgreens) do offer assistance too. Good luck to you.

I am sorry you things have to go that way. I totally undrstand how you feel, I have been through what you are going through in the past. I think it really depends how long you have been on your meds and how frequently you dose is. I can tell you this much, I went off Lamictal cold turkey about 2 years ago, and it was not a pleasant experience. It makes you lightheaded and a little disoriented for about a week or so. You should not have to stop trazadone unless you have too, I think it is only about $8 or so for the generic brand. You should ask your local pharmacy for prices. As for the other 2, I am not really sure about them.

I agree with Serafena about checking out the gov't prescription drug plan. You should sign up asap because it might take a few months before things happen. Also, don't hesitate to ask you dr. about where to get for help.

This is one of the programs, they should be able to cover all your meds, if you qualify. (You have to send everything that they ask for in the same package, if you don't they don't process it on time)

You don't take much Valium, but not don stop cold turkey wean off of it. Your dose is low so I wouldn't worry much. There are two things about benzo withdrawal that most poeple don't know: 1. depranding on your use, it can kill you to stop suddenly (your dose is low,) and 2. benzo withdrawal by heavy drug addicts as painful physcally and herion withdrawal (again depending on doseo and how often used for this one.) Missing a dose may seem to cause mental problems, physical problems set in around 48 hours so you should see a doctor first. Last time I did benzo withdrawal was in a hospital. I still take Valium; it is only about 4$ a day for 40mg for me so you may want to try to keep it and pay out of pocket.
