Oral Thrush from Lamictal?

Anyone here get thrush as a side effect of Lamictal? I've got a weird problem called "burning mouth syndrome" and one of the causes is thrush. I'm taking Mycostatin which seems to be easing the burning a lot. I'm wondering if the Lamictal could be causing the thrush. This all started up when I went on it. Thanks for any input.

I haven't had any side effects like that when I was on lamictal. You can call your pharmacist and they would have an answer for you.

I'm sorry you're having to deal with this. You would definitely want to find this information out especially if you are still taking the lamictal. They may need to find another drug for you it this is a side effect from it.

I checked out the lamictal entry on www.rxlist.com and it doesn't mention thrush as one of the possible side effects, but you know, that doesn't really mean much. I would take sukay's advice and call your pharmacist or doc.

Thanks guys. I have found my pharmacist and doc to be less than knowledgable about side effects. They've told me several times "no, that is not a side effect" and then later they say "oh, sure that can be a side effect". It's a real pain in the butt.

I think the problem is my doc might only have 30 or so people on Lamictal. So probably no one else has my side effect.

I did find a couple of people on the web with thrush from it and quite a few with vaginal yeast problems from it. I hate to switch it but I may have to think about it. I think it's that whole skin rash thing...only in your mouth.
