Hello,

I've just returned from my pdoc and he has changed my meds from 100mg of Lamictal (also take 150mg of Trazadone and 75 mg of Tofranil) to 6mg of Invega.  Does anyone take this and what type of sucess have you had with it.  The side effects sound a little scary and the weight gain part surely don't sound appealing as I'm already pleasingly plump. Any info would be greatly appreciated!

I know almost nothing about Invega, I'm sorry to say. Seems like the board is pretty quiet too. Maybe it's a lesser used drug?

Invega is a fairly new atypical antipsychotic, that mostly used to treat schizophrenia. I think they use it in bipolar if nothing else seems to help.

My pdoc put me on Invega and I honestly can't remember why I did not like it. It is new and part of it was that my insurance copay was allot higher since as I said it was a new drug. I was given samples. It scared me that it said it was used for schizophrenia but I guess it also helps with bipolar.You can google it. Good luck

Update...So far I feel better on Invega than I did on Lamictal...I actually sleep better and do not have as much pain in my body (on Lamictal my whole body ached). Now whether this is just in my head ...lol... or whether the rx is making a difference I'm not sure; but I will keep the board updated as to the success or non success of Invega...
