blush  hi there,

 

just wondering does anyone out there know how long u stay on one dose of lamictal before you increase. got suscribed it ages ago when lived in another country. have been avoiding taking it..denial even after almost 23 yrs..of havin some disorder..you see cant even write bi polar. anyhow, came across the tabs and am gona try them. cant do any harm eh..and am just fed up pretending to be happy..

Hello and welcome to HealingWell and to the bipolar board. I really recommend you increase your dosage under the advisement of a doc. Lamictal can cause this rare but serious rash if not eased into gradually. I wouldn't even presume to tell you the dosages.

I do certainly understand how upsetting and frustrating it is to be handed a diagnosis of a chronic mood disorder. I understand why you would want to just live with it for as long as possible. I commend you for facing it after all these years though. I think you'll find that once you get the medications right, stability is much preferable to the swinging.

hi serafena,

took your advice and went to my doc..who prescribed me some lamictal and gave me advise on taking it. am on it for about 5 days now. did feel drowsy at the beginning. no major changes yet in fact there was a day there when my mood really took a u-turn. Could have been just me and my moods.anyhow gona keep on it for a while and see how it goes.
