Hello everyone! I have been reading posts off and on. Our life has been fairly calm- except for the three little kids who live with my husband and I...
In the last month we were notified that my husband's psychiatrist has decided to be a stay at home mother!!!! Ugh!!!! I was quite upset that she didn't tell us this in advance since it does take forever to get appointments with psychiatrists! Nevermind that we were in the middle of getting my husband's medication stabilized!!! Still haven't found someone to replace her!
BUT, luckily she did give us enough refills of the meds to keep it going until we find another p-doc to take over my husband's treatment. Right now, he appears to be pretty stable. We continue to attend marriage counseling and it's the only place where we openly talk about our "feelings". Those sessions have been very enlightening for both of us- lots of misunderstandings with regards to our "feelings" have been cleared up.
I did inform him that I am comitted to him and this marriage and helping him through every episode of this ugly illness. He hasn't had a raging manic episode in quite a while. When he needs space to himself, I accommodate and take the kids away.
He is taking on a less stressful position at work with a paycut to alleviate some of the stress he feels at work. I, in turn got a promotion with a nice pay raise! It all evened out!
Thank you for listening. Thank you all for being my support group! I NEVER would have been able to have gone this far in helping my husband with this bi-polar business if I hadn't found you all.
