Me too...I think my meds are working to keep me stable.

I have been on these meds for 6 months and now I have
a full-time job that though exhausting, keeps me from having
too much time to think! I'm actually living a normal life.

I think getting out of self and thinking about others and not
'living in the disease' has helped me too.

I'm glad you're smooth sailing...whatever you're doing...keep it up!

  It may not be remission, but i am hugely more stable and productive than i was a year ago at this time.  Thank god for the meds because they have given me at least a year and a half of sanity in my life. ANd thats a year and a half that  no one can ever take away from me.

It can certainly feel like remission and why not call it that? LoL

I think it is finally finding a right balance of medications that are working for you right now.

Great to hear for all of you.

I hope it gives all of you much freedom for a very long time.

I have had periods of remission when my meds feel right, I feel like me. I treasure those times because invariably the mood shifts, but having had good times I knoow it will come again. When I feel myself slipping I get back into talk therapy ASAP, because there is often a trigger that is threatening my mood swing. Cherish this time.

If you watch the stephen fry documentary : The secret life of the manic depressive , theres a lady i think who controls her bipolar with fish oil and claims to be stable as well.

The "fish oil lady" is Gracelyn Guyol.  she wrote a book "Healing Depression and Bipolar Disorder Without Drugs"

I think the book is a bunch of crap and didn't get anything helpful out of it.  But I have a copy of it that I would be happy to mail to someone who is interested.  Just send me an email.
