Bipolar & Disability ?

Hello, I was just wondering if anyone had some knowledge in Filing for Disabilty?

I was diagnosed 18-months ago...Bipolar 2 (manic-Depressive), Borderline Personality Disorder, Major Anxiety & Panic Attacks. I take: Lamictal, Hydroxyzine, Trazadone, Gabapentin (all related to Mental Health)...

ileostomy (re-routed intestines out thru abdomen), almost 1-yr ago...

In addition: Cyclobenzaprine, Tramadol, Naproxen, Tyl.#3

(Pelvic & Vaginal Trauma)...Campral (for recovering alcoholic cravings)...

Do these all related 2 disability? And is it just best 2 get an attorney? If these questions R inappropriate i apologize & pleez just void these questions.

SS evaluates what they percieve as a person's ability to do "substantial" work. They define it with earning a $ amount.

You could certainly apply if you feel unable to work. The application can be emotionally exhausting, and there are no guarantees, of course. Most people with mental health claims have to apply several times. I was lucky and got it with no difficulty. My medical records coincideded with periods of unemployment, and at the time I applied, i had not worked for more than a year.

There's no need to get an attourney. Ask lots of questions. Work on your application over time.
