my pdoc says it is very good for mania. I don't have mania but I still take it for it's overall mood stabilising properties, but I can only tolerate 100mg of it because of my liver issues. I think it's a pretty good drug as far as mood stabilisers go. It also helps me with agophobia and urge to drink for some reason???

I've been taking it for about
7 years now (along with a handful of other meds) and it really does help over all to stabilize my mood. The only small problem I have had with it is ringing in the ears. Also, when I tried to decrease my dose or stop taking it, I found that I got REALLY irritable and angry.
