New Mood Stabilizer Medication

I was recently prescribed TRILEPTAL as a mood stabilizer and to help with chronic pain. Has anyone had experience with this medication? Any feedback is welcome. Thank you.

All I know is it is similar to Tegretol. I have not been on either one.

Never heard of it, it's for mood and pain? Like Lyrica and cymbalta?
I've been on both of those and Gabapentin, now I'm on Pristiq, its an SRNI, its mood and pain, the pain part is Norephnephrine(I don't think i spelled that right)that's our body's natural painkiller. I will definitely look it up as i usually have to switch meds every couple of years. Thanks and keep coming back.

That one is pretty old school. It may make you dizzy. It was originally marketed as an anti epileptic..but like so many BP meds they found it to be a good mood stabilizer. Its out in generic, prob why he chose it over the expensive cymbalta. Rxlist.com is a good site to look it up on.
