g'day from down under, diagnosis turning me upsidedown

Hi I'm from Australia stumbled on this site, looking up info on lithium, as I have been finally diagnosed at 30something with bi polar, just wanting to get info and stuff around side effects..
After years of self medicating with pretty much everything I am hoping lithium is the magic pill which will help me... well mainly the doc is trying not to write me benzos..
Am on sodium valporate as well (epilim) and temazepam for sleep.
