Zyprexa for sleep

I do not have bipolar or schizophrenia... but my doctor prescribed Zyprexa for bad insomnia. I'm scared to take it, the side effects are crazy and I don't know if I want to take an antipsychotic.

Hey AngMichelle,
Trials are just that. You give a drug a whirl and see what they do for you. There is no other way to know how a drug will work for you or what its side effects may be for you. If it doesn't work or you have side effects that impact on your health, you simply stop taking it. You will need to work out within yourself whether you will let fear of problems that might not happen, stop you from trialling a drug that may help with a problem that is really happening right now and having an obvious impact on your life.

I have taken it before when i had Anxiety and i actually had a BF who was taking them for same reason as you and i popped a few of his tabs a few times to help me sleep(wrong yes i know) Trust me you will be out like a light to the point of wanting to sleep for days. Just put possible sinde effects out of your mind and see how you go i think it is fairly well tolerated.
