Side effects from Lithium

Sorry you are having trouble. One thing that may help is to call the pharmacist and explain your situation. They should be able to tell you if those are normal side effects and if they will likely go away as your body gets used to the med. I have been on lithium (currently 600mg) for a number of years, and I don't at all remember how I felt in the beginning. I can tell you that your dose is fairly low, I was on 1200mg for a long time, until recently, when my body was having some trouble metabolizing it, so we cut it down gradually until 600mg. You will need to get lithium levels done every so often to check the amount of lithium in your blood--it's a very simple blood test. How often depends on things like the dose you are on, if your symptoms are changing/you have new or unexplained symptoms, and testing is more frequent when your dose gets changed, just to make sure that the level is where it should be.

Don't sit around not feeling well or worrying, call the pharmacist or your doc's office and check it out. If nothing else, it will give you piece of mind!

Oh yes, I remember being on Lithium and it worked good for awhile once the dosage was corrected. Had excellent results for about two years I guess. Then 'WHAM' about nine months later I would find myself walking around all night long, with a thirst that I could not quench and the weight gain. The lack of sleep sent me into a dark deep depressive state and I lost all reality.

DO NOT try to self adjust your meds, this is a serious condition.
