Hey all. I feel like I've gotten fairly stable, except boughts of agitation sometimes bordering on rage. I used to control this with xanax, but the old dose no longer does anything. I now have to take 1mg and a beer to calm down to normal. My doc had mentioned switching out my mood stabilizer from trileptal (max dose) to depakote because of this. Anyone had this experience? I'm just so scared to upheave my main med and worry what will happen since I'm the most stable I've been in a long time. I thought of asking to switch to klonopin instead of xanax since its an all day thing? I don't know, I'm nervous to disrupt the cocktail too much :/

Hi Audrianna,
Talk to your doc about
an increase in dosage. Maybe this may help your moods. If not, switching meds may help as well. Sometimes we need a change in meds or dosage.
Please also remember to use your coping skill to help control your different moods. They can be helpful and work together with your meds.

Thanks, he wants to keep my main meds intact since I'm pretty stable for a change! We just swapped out the xanax to klonopin. We'll see how that goes. I feel good about
the decision.
