Hello Everyone

I'm not sure how to put this but after going all the way up on my Seroquel to help with escalating hypo mania I'm on my way back down. The only thing is I still have some of the symptoms from being so high. They are starting to worry me because these symptoms are always there. They are paranoia and slight hallucination which my doc says is hyper vigilance. I have a steady anxiety that makes me startled by the least little thing all the time. And by hallucinations I mean always seeing things out of the corner of my eye or briefly turning my head. It is always black what I see and not shadows but things. For instance, I make food and see black spots appear in the flour or rice. Sometimes I see a black animal out of the corner of my eye. Also I feel someone following me at times but no one is there. This happens on the street or when I'm standing in the kitchen. Feels so real that I will cook sideways so I can see everything. Not sure what's happening but maybe some of you can let me know what you think.

Some side effects of Seroquel include psychosis, hallucinations, paranoid reactions, delusions, manic reaction, depersonalization.

I read up on Hypervigilance and it does sound like it. The definition: "Hypervigilance is an enhanced state of sensory sensitivity accompanied by an exaggerated intensity of behaviors whose purpose is to detect threats. Hypervigilance is also accompanied by a state of increased anxiety which can cause exhaustion."

Did you ask your doc about the dosage and if it's too high or if you should decrease it a bit? They would be able to make a recommendation.

what you got to remember is that any form of mania is actually a form of hypervigilance in itself. some element of psychosis is a element of bi-polar disorders. esp t1, and rapid cycling. i guess my feelings towards seroquel are mixed. i was on 1200mg for a long period, for sleep. seroquel absorbs in a way that weaning of it is difficult, very difficult. it took me over a year. you got to remember that seroquel is a powerful anti-psychotic. i am sure some of the side effects that UA has mentioned may happen-but the seroquel is there to actually assist in treating these.

boy i was all over the place when i posted this.had to fix some stuff. i am getting old and tired.

I have had something like that I saw blue on things , then 100 of people walking toward me, someone took
went to the hospital and they gave me zyprexa every half hour,,un til it stopped.....it never happened again

hi i totally relate to all the things happening same here, am coming off my seq, I get really paranioa, and have delusional and i was only on 100mg, i am just learning about the hpyersenstive. I used to think i was beening haunted by ghost, I just lost my insurance and cant get my meds I forgot how bad the voices can get, and seem worse. I have good freinds that understand and call me everyday to check on me, i hope you have good support, I found meetings in my area that are free, they help alot, might be worth going to have ex support good luck wink
