I humbly ask someone, anyone, who feels they have any idea on this question, to please respond. I've been on Seroquel for a couple months now (50 mg at bedtime). Usually, I go right to sleep. However, last week, while going "off" to sleep (i sleep on my stomach)--i wake up, gasping for air -just momentarliy (this is NOT a sleep apnea---just a subjective feeling). Then, I close my eyes & a few mins later again, it happens! I call my wife in (she sleeps in different room because of her snoring)-----she tries to calm me----gives me massage---i go off to sleep.
I talked to my therapist about this---she feels it's stress related. Says -as far as she knows-not any side effect of Seroquel. (I had seen my ENT doc last week--he feels, at worse--it may be Pharyngeal spasm)
Then---last nite, same thing. I am not quite OFF to sleep----just going into that sleep phase--i wake up---i tell my wife to call 911---she feels i'm panicking. Another massage---then i go to sleep, no problems.
I did search on Seroquel side effects. NOTHING like this----only ----"pharyngititis"-------tomorrow, I se my pdoc.
To all my HW compatriots----has ANYONE had anything like this happen to them w Seroquel???? If not, please---feedback--what does it sound like??? I'm really scared !!!!! The feeling i have when i get this---is like----i'm gonna DIE!!! Thanks---Robert
