Question re stabilization

Hello!

I've recently been diagnosed with bipolar II after years of being misdiagnosed. I've been prescribed lamitrigine at 25mg which will increase by 25mg biweekly until reaching 150mg. I'm also being weaned off Cipralex (I'm down to 5mg). I also deal with agoraphobia w/ panic and am beginning to get restless to 'cure' it. My therapist told me to wait working on the agoraphobia until I've reached my maximum dose and am stabilized as this alone may how a long way in helping with the agoraphobus. I know medication reacts differently from person to person as does the time it takes to stabilize. Despite this, I was wondering how long it has taken others to stabilize. Thanks and regards!

lamictal, slow to start, good for mania. must take slow, make sure no rash, it is dangerous, but rare. it shows very early. works well as a combo med, but it is more a foundation med that works best in the background. you can get bloods done for your levels, this way ya doc can judge efficacy and dosage. 150 is a good target range. can go higher if ya bloods give wriggle room. it likes an increase does lamictal, increments are good at 25mg. I was on 400 morning and night. hope this help, but I am a rapid cycler, and have discontinued this med in December just gone.
