Yay for me...last night I was just feeling awful...having the worst panic attacks lasting for like three days this time. I am pretty scared to take meds, but have already been to the dr. I have not followed up on what they recommended. However, last night i finally gave in and took some klonopin! I took a very low dose like half of .25 mg. I felt normal...still a little anxious, but I wanted to see how the med affected me because I do not like taking xanax. It makes my tummy hurt and my head woozy. I know you cannot take klonopin forever, but maybe if I use it with my therapy and other non-med approaches I can get better. How do other people like klonopin on this board and what is their experience with it? I actuallyf eel like I can return to some phobic situation while using this drug to desensitize me.

I take klonopin occasionally. It certainly helps me with my panic and anxiety. I take .5 and have no problems with it on a prn basis. When I was taking it regularly it seemed to cause some depression but again, on an as needed basis it was a lifesaver.
Xanax never did anything for me. It was like eating an asprin. Valium was the same. I actually had my best results with ativan.

sdgirly, That is great!! Taking medications of any kind can be scary, I often wonder if I am going to have an allergic reaction or if it is going to make me feel weird or whatever. Sometimes it is just a trial and error basis on finding the right med for you that you can take on a PRN basis for anxiety.

That is wonderful!!!!!! I am so glad that you were able to take action to take care of yourself. I know that sometimes that is difficult. More and more experiences like that and it will help you build confience. (sp;, yall will find out real quick that I can't spell!! :) )
I'm glad that you had a few moments of feeling good. When you get those savor them, they are so blessed.-bb (PS- I take 2mgs of Klonipin everynight before bed and I still get up around 3 or 4 with night mares. I jealous that 25 mgs works for you ;) ) bb
