Excellent news!

I actually feel quite happy, and confident.
Part of this is hypomania, but it's all good.

One of the doctors at the local surgery is good.
I saw him today.
He was very good.
It's nice to see a doctor and
a) not be insulted for self injuring
b) not have him roll his eyes if you mention the dreaded F-Word (Fibromyalgia)
c) have him be actually read carefully through the 4 page list of what's wrong, and be really concerned
d) not have him shrug and say tough, cos I'm moving town in 2 weeks, and instead set his secretary to talking to the local care team I need to see and seeing if they can see me asap so they can get something in place now, and then transfer me to the Reading side when I move
e) have him realise immediately what state I was in, and talk to me in the best way for that state, and find out what the immediate difficulties are going to be and prescribe something that should help with that whilst I wait for his secretary to sort out me seeing someone

It's good to see a good doctor for once.
It's amazing how little people without health problems realise the value of a really good doctor.

So anyway... I don't care what's wrong with the world right now; I have had a good doctors appointment, and... I HAVE ICED GEMS!!
(I was bad... I left the docs and immediately spent the little cash I had left on sweets and crisps and drinks!)

He's prescribed me diazepam temporarily so that I can calm down and get out of the major anxiety that's taking over the mania at the moment. He said it's just temporary, until they can assess me properly and get it all sorted out.

Any experiences of diazepam? I've never been on it before, he said it might make me drowzy.

It's a shame I won't be able to keep that doctor when I move, but I've heard good things about the uni health centre, so I'm optimistic.
And if I can get this BiP under control it'll be good.

I spoke to my parents about it, and we all agreed that had my Mum developed BiP when I was young, I'd have been diagnosed straight away. When she had her breakdown and was diagnosed with it, everything about my childhood slotted into place.
But then I saw that STUPID doctor who said mixed episodes were impossible (which I told the doctor today and he looked VERY unimpressed), and I just gave up trying to get it sorted out.

It's so nice to find a doctor that cares!

I've felt pretty happy all day today; it's mostly hupomania euhoria, but it's much better than angry/violent/suicidal mania!

I think I can cope with this til I get the medicines tomorrow lunch time
