lamictal and nasal problems (help)

Im wondering if anyone has had nasal problems of any kind while on lamictal?

I have this nasty smell in my nose and get random sinus clogging/dry nose. Its almost enough to make me go get some amoxicillin from the doctor. I dont think its a sinus infection, but when I gently pinch my nose and breath in it smells afful. And i never had these kind of problems before i took lamictal. Ive taken it around 10 months now, at higher doses previously but now im just staying with 50mg.

Any help would be appriciated, because im going through antihistamines/decongestent pills like candy.

Hi Manic D. -- I haven't noticed that while I've been taking it (I'm on 400 mg). That sounds really unpleasant. (I would imagine, though, all the antihystamines are helping to make your nasal passages feel overly dry.) Two of the officially listed possible side effects for Lamictal are dry mouth and runny nose. It's worth mentioning to your doc, I'd think.

Manic,

I was on lamictal for a little over 1 1/2 years in the past. I too never had issues with it it and I was taking 300mg as my highest dose. As Serafena stated, if you are really concerned about it, then you should bring it up with your dr.
