my wifes doc just switched her from 60 mgs of celexa that were barely working to 20 mgs of paxil,,,with the understanding that if the 20 mgs werent enough to go on 40 mg of paxil,,,,is paxil strong enough at that dosage?

follownhosea,
I can't speak for paxil. I've never been on it. How long does she have to give the 20 mgs a chance before she ups to 40?

Follownhosea:
This is what the patient information for paxil says about
dosing:
For oral tablet dosage form:
* For treatment of depression:
o Adults—At first, 20 milligrams (mg) once a day, usually taken in the morning. Your doctor may increase your dose if needed. However, the dose usually is not more than 50 mg a day.
I got this off of http://www.drugs.com/cons/paxil.html I bumped up the medicines resource links threads we used to have. If you want to read more about
paxil, everything you ever wanted to know is on drugs.com.
