They did my thyrogen test this year and it came back at a level of 9.1. Without a thyroid, it should have been less than 2.
I had papillary as well, but I had one lymph node positive. It was the one that is basically connected to the thyroid.
Unfortunately, they don't know if what caused the level was cancerous of just some weird thyroid tissue because healthy and cancerous thyroid cells give off the same stuff. It was picked up in my ovary so that is the really odd thing.
So, they decided I should repeat the RAI. It was unpleasant. Last year was no picnic either, but this year it was way worse. I felt weird and I looked really weird too so it was kind of scary.
I hated the low iodine diet too. I don't use salt, but I love sauces and dressings so it was a pain!
The weird taste and stuff will get better I promise!
