We have nothing but rain here, and it's the first year we've not had a houseful of people, I guess the rain won't spoil much for me, but I know there are going to be lots of disappointed kids around here tonight.

No fireworks here in the country, thank goodness. I feel sorry for the dogs when they are so frightened. I went to bed by nine and got up at 6:00. Fixed Chuck his breakfast, went back to bed until 10 am. I could go back and sleep some more, too. We are getting a nice rain today and it is sorely needed. Happy restful Sunday following the 4th. i remmember my dog when hes dealing with fire crackers. shaking under the table ^_^

When my kids were little, we had a cocker spaniel. One of the girls accidentally caught her "feathers" on fire with one of those "california sparklers." The poor dog was scared to death, not because her feathers were burning, but because I suddenly started beating her with a towel to put the fire out!
