She just called.  Her arm is still enormous, she still has a high fever, feeling terrible, but sounds good.  She is on Clindromycin and cesazol, neither of which are familiar names to me. She is really hurting from the finger through her arm. They are not letting her take her own meds so she has not had her diabetic medication nor BP since yesterday afternoon. She is not a happy camper but she is scared to death about her arm.  You can call her at 972-547-8732. I offered to go over and had orders not to come so I will wait another day or two or whatever she says.  Keep the prayers and good thoughts flowing for her.  Scared, too, MK

Her arm sounds terrible...but glad it is being treated.

I am so sorry to hear about her arm.  I am hoping that everything will be alright.  That certainly was quick to have the infection spread!  I am fortunate, so far, to not have any problems with lymphedema and I hope it stays that way.

I hope it stays that way too, Kathy. It is really nasty. I have been lucky for eight years. Jo-Ann has some other problems medically which would not be helpful with an infection, and could cause the rapid spread. Diabetes, for one that is not very well controlled and infection does not do well with Diabetes. So say an extra little prayer for her to get better fast. Hugs MK

Oh, my goodness! I missed the board the last few days and this is what happens! Denise sends her love, as do I, and we are both praying for her. It sounds very painful. Hoping that the worst is behind her.

I'll try to call her Wed evening...hope she remembers me from Louisville!

Please let her know we are all crowding in her room in spirit and hope that she gets better soon.  I hope they let her get "real" food from the outside world instead of that hospital stuff.

I love Mikki's idea: I have this odd image of her in the Indiana Jones hat running down the hospital corridor pushing Jo Ann in a wheelchair toward the exit with a big boulder rolling behind them.....

Well the PCE better get busy. I think Jo-Ann needs a couple of pink feathers on her bed to cheer her up. I am so sorry to see she is having this on top of everything else. The vision of MK in an Indiana Jones hat and Jo-Ann in the chair is a vision I will not get out of my head very soon. In this vision where is MKs three legged seat? When Jo-Ann gets better we are going to have to get her to make this a Teenytinytown post with all this material. Love, hugs and prayers and good thoughts all headed your way. Vic wants you to know you should stick to John Deere its safer. I know when you feel better you will smile with that one. Joyce

MK...please tell Jo-Ann I know that arm will get better.  Must be from spending too many nights hugging that rototiller!  Men may not be as useful, but they are a bit more pliable!

Oh, I am so angry that this has happened to Jo-Ann. Will the drs. never learn that most times we really do know what's best for us?? This whole story sounds like an awful replay of my "kennebunkport bee" experience only Jo-Ann's is so much more intense and difficult to get under control. When I first read the story I wondered about the antibiotics but figured her drs. had given her everything she needed. Wrong, never assume. So Jo-Ann I'm sending you super big hugs for comfort and lots of love to help you feel better. I'm so sorry you're in this situation, especially since it happened doing something that you enjoy so much. L&H's, Luci
