Today was my appt. with the internist to get the results of all of the scans I had last week. Before we talked about the results I had to give in another urine sample. So, here's the latest, the scans are all clear, no renal or abdominal masses. The urinalysis (sp) showed blood in the urine once again. I finished the second course of antibiotics last Thurs.
So the dr. said he's sending me to a urologist for a cystoscope. I said "NOT"!!! I decided last week after the last test that I was not having one more thing done to me. I'm exhausted physically and emotionally and can't bear the thought of one more person touching me or poking me. I think the dr. was surprised when I said "not," but that's my decision and I'll live with it.
DH has a urologist in NY who follows him because of prostate problems. I'm going to collect all of the results from all of the tests and take them with me when we go East for DFIL's 90th birthday. Barry will call the urologist tomorrow and get an appt. for me. If it means staying a couple of extra days that's what we'll do.
I've decided I don't know the drs. here well enough to just say OK to every little thing they suggest. It's bad enough that the cardiologist who did my angiogram never dictated a report. So I've never gotten any results, officially or otherwise about that either. Today I spent 2 hours in the internist's office. Of that 2 hours I spoke to him for maybe 5 mins. in total. He left the room and was supposed to come back in, but never did. So I put on my coat, walked to his nurses' area and said "I'm leaving now; 2 hours in my limit." Then I said, "and you all shouldn't want me to BE here longer than 2 hours." Well, it was like I suggested that they walk down main street naked - dead silence. I asked them to give me the copies of the reports I had requested and left. And that was the end of that.
The dr. got a little annoyed when he was with me because I had a list of ???'s. He told me I was too fast for him. Well, he doesn't know about this board and how much I learned here. I guess he's used to patients coming in and saying, "yes, dr" and "thank you, dr. for making me wait 2 hrs." Well, my time is valuable and there is a limit to how much of it I'm willing to waste. A dr's office is definitely not my first choice. Gosh, can you tell I'm disgusted??? Lordy, what's happening to me?? I think I'm becoming a cranky old crone. I keep asking G-d to give me patience and find good in all of the morons I've encountered during the past month, but so far it's been "no dice, Nevada." So, my friends, if you've got some extra kindness to spare send it my way, because I'm scraping the bottom of my compassion barrel. Luci
