"freshman class" of 2000 reunion......

For those of you who were around in the old 'hood, you may recall that 5 or 6 of us went through chemo on the same week. Someone dubbed us "the freshman class", as we helped to gear each other up for each round.

My first day was today, Tuesday 2/8.

Sadly, Peggy was part of that group. This week marks 5 years that we embarked on that part of the journey. I think Becky & I are the only ones still posting, we lost touch with the others.

5 years, eh?

Congratulations I was just behind you, I started my chemo 12/00. Can I still be in the class of 2000? LOL

I started chemo 12/00 also.  Got to school mid year, lol.  I was just thinking that this is my 5th year.  Congrats ladies.

Congratulations to you Lori and the rest of the Freshman Class.  Nice to have some buddies.  I went through mine alone (8 years ago) and then hooked up with you guys (after 3 years).  I think the surgeon was surprised when I called the office 3 years later and asked for my pathology report... who knew?  Thanks guys.  Hugs, Libby

Happy Anniversary to us all!  I'm so glad to be celebrating with some wonderful ladies.  I think I still see Carole2of5 still around. 

When I began this journey, I sure didn't expect to be here and still posting 5 years later.  We have been blessed -- to not only still be here, but to have each other.  We came to know each other on the board and in the chat room where we have shared tears and laughter.  But the times we have been able to receive in-person hugs, those are cherished memories.

OK, I sound like I'm going to go into a chorus of "Thanks for the Memories!"  Joyce, want to join me?

My first bout was in 1995, but I met this group in 2000 when I began chemo in August 2000. I've been erratic about posting lately, but I still think of you all daily.

I was here, too, in 2000! I didn't have chemo, but you helped me through some tough surgeries! I was also thinking that big "5" is coming up! Congrats to us all, girlfriends! L&H, Frayda

Well, can I be a member? It was my second time, but I started chemo in May of 2000. Oh, how I wish I had known all of you the first time in 1997. Believe me, things would have been different.

LOL...I guess I was already a Senior by then! I'm like Libby...went through the first years alone. Wish I had had this great bunch of ladies back then.


Congrats to the freshmen. (And I sure do miss Peggy!!! I'm sure she's toasting you all!)

Amazing that we have been together for 5 yrs...dont know if I
would have survived without you all....Thank goodness we had
each other...

Happy Anniversary to us! My first chemo was 2/10 so I'm right behind you. It was also the day of my first tamoxifen. One more of those little pills and I'm officially done with treatment (knock wood). It's wonderful to see all of the long term survivors in this post. I also grieve for the many wonderful ladies that we've lost along the way. I miss Peggy everyday. There has been so much I've wanted to share with her in the past year. What an adventure the last five years have been. Even though I don't post much it's been wonderful to have you ladies to share it with. Yeah for us!!!

How wonderful it is to have all of you here and celebrating five years. I, too, wish some of the others were still here with us. We have many great memories to share. Hugs and prayers for many more five year celebrations. MK

Sending congratulatory hugs to everyone here for fighting the BC battle , no matter how many years you have had to deal with it.

In March I will celebrate 20 (yes 20) years!!!! I have so much to be thankful for and you gals are my angel blessings.

Sure wish I would have had this board 20 years ago......it sure would have helped to have had you all holding my hand back then, especially through the recurrence 2 years after the initial DX!

Congrats hugs to all of you in the 'freshman class' .. i was a bit behind you, dx 2/01 ! there have been so many changes since then... and so many losses... hugs to all that are here and still fighting...
