please help me....suggestions required

  i am a 17 year old girl. and i found a lump in my left breast.and also sometimes have a very minutely flakey skin.

 is it a breast cancer. at my this position i cant tell my parents anything about that.so what if i wait for some years and then go for a doctors checkup.???

 will this cause any harm???

 i just dont find any way out...what can i do..please suggest something..

Why can't you tell your parents? And why can't you just go see a doctor on your own? While it is unlikely that this is breast cancer, only a doctor can tell you for sure what is going on. You can contact Planned Parenthood and get information on how to get this checked, if you can't go to your parents or your own doctor.

Hi Bella, I agree with the previous comment. You should go see  a doctor to make sure everything's ok. I will tell you that 80% of the lumps found in our breast turn out to be benign(not cancerous) but there is a 20% that I believe is strong enough to push us to see a doctor. You are very young but unfortunately breast cancer doesnt care about your age. Now please dont misunderstand, I am NOT telling you is cancer but I do tell you to please follow up. I dont know why you cant tell your parents but just remember, is your body and is your life. I wish you well :-)

thanks for ur suggestions friends....but i cant see a doctor right now i need afew months....in few months i will privately see a doctor...but now i am not that independent to go to see a doctor without informing my parents...

will those few months will cause me any harm..i have no other option left...

please tell me...waiting for few months will cause any harm or not....

Bella I wish I could answer your question but unfortunately my statement stays the same. You should really go see a doctor. We dont know if the lump in your breast is bad or not and there would be no other way of finding out unless you see a doctor. I am a breast cancer survivor and I have learned that "waiting " is not the place to be when we know there is something unusual in our body. Bella can I ask the reason why you cant tell your parents? Maybe I can understand better, I dont see anything wrong by going to your mom and tell her you noticed something in your breast. I have a 17 year old myself and I am constantly reminding her about breast self exams. As a mother I can tell you that we care for our children, even if there isn't a lot of communication, I know I would do anything for my 3 girls.

Hey bella,

At your age I doubt it's anything more than a cyst. I've had them all my life. It's called Polycystic disease.

But when you can go see a doctor, go. Doesn't hurt to check it out.

Stop fretting and panicing. If it is something serious, which I doubt, you'll just deal with it THEN.

Don't borrow trouble from tomorrow, you have enough to deal with today.

Good advice for just about anyone. wink

thanks glacier for your advice.i felt very much relieved after listening your views about cysts.but at same point as u said i should not take anything for granted,so i will go to doctor as soon as possible...n inform u all about my results...

thanks for ur advice.

at such a little age i dont want to carry such a big disease.and bieng afraid of that i just dont dare to tell my parents and see a doctor..

but now i have decided..to see a doctr as soon as possible..n also inform my mother...but i m afraid whenever i think about my disease..

Hi Bella, Im so glad you decided to see a doctor, it is the best thing you could've done for yourself and for peace of mind. I know you must be scared but dont jump into any conclusions before you are checked. There is no disease unless a doc and a biopsy will say so. Enjoy life to the fullest and I be praying for you :) Hope to hear good news soon...
