Hair is falling out...........

Well, as expected, my hair is falling out. It is all over the place. You should have seen the tub

after my shower this morning...YIKES. I guess I will be getting that buzz cut later this week.

I thought since I was bald once before it wouldnt bother me, but it is ....Physically

I am feeling a bit better, emotionally I am depressed. I hate cancer, but who doesnt ?

Cathi: It is surprising how losing our hair for a 2nd or 3rd or even 4th time affects us, isn't it? I, like you, thought that losing my hair for the 2nd time wouldn't bother me quite as much but I was wrong. I was depressed and mad as heck. Even after it grew back and then one of the chemo's made my hair "thin out", I was angry. So, don't be hard on yourself. You have every right to feel badly both physically and mentally. One good thing, at least the weather is getting warmer.

Cath, all I can add is that you are stronger this time around...you may be more battle weary from treatments, but you have the insight and wisdom to draw from this time. And you know that a peace will come after the anger of losing your hair...but getting there will take a tear or two....and then I know you'll be back on top. I remember meeting you in SL with just the tiniest of hair sprouting, and you looked so brave and precious...

Cathi, I'm so sorry you have to go through all this again.  When my hair fell out after my chemo I wasn't all that bummed because I had really straight, thin hair that just hung straight off my head.  I would faithfully fix it every day, knowing that if I was lucky it would last half an hour.  Now that I have a lot of body to my hair, I'd be totally devastated to lose it again.  I'm hoping that when it comes back in it will be just the way you want it.

I lost my hair twice.  Once in 1996 and once last year.  I think it was worse the second time.  I don't know why but I really believed it wouldn't bother me because I had done it before but I was wrong.........  The good news is that I've been wearing my own hair for over a month now.  It's very curly and I feel so blessed to have it back.  I know this time is difficult but remember it will grow back and it will be better than ever!!!!!

BTW, if you decide to wear a wig, I got mine from www.beautytrends.com.

Even my doctor thought it was MY hair.  They're inexpensive and look very natural.

Right there with you Cathi . . I am now bald for the 4th tiime and it finally didn't bother me. The first three were tough but this time what the heck. Of course I hate to see myself in the mirror and lovingly refer to myself as "Uncle Fester, ala Munsters". . .good thing my husband is apparently into fat, bald women.

Dear Cathi,

Hate to hear this and I agree with you, this disease sucks.  Was at my kids school tonight and a mom came up to me and asked if I would be okay talking about breast cancer...she was just dx late last week.  Everytime we turn around it seems.  Hang in there and I think about you all the time.

Hi ladies, i went to the chemo doctor today,and i will be having chemo every 2 weeks.Doc said my hair will fall out 2 or 3 weeks after treatment.does this sound about right or could it be sooner.Also i go tomorrow to have die injected and to have a heart scan to see if everything is ok.Have any of you had this done.if so how was it? Oh Cathi,

I knew it would be harder the second time around.  I too met you with just ever so little hair and that is how I remember you, but knowing how most of us are about hair, I understand the depression.  Like someone said though, you are so much wiser this time because you know so much more and what to expect - not that you like it, but you know.

Cathi, I am so sorry you are going through all this again. I would think once is enough for anyone, but to lose your hair again....sigh....I am glad you are feeling better and I hope that continues to improve..it's not much, but your hair will grow back and at least you know that the treatment is doing something! Sending you hugs and prayers that you feel better soon, both physically and mentally. Love you.

I agree with MK and others. You are beautiful. I liked you so much, as you know, when we had our first meal together. I do know though, having lost mine twice. It did come in better and different the second time. Best hair I've ever had. Will be really mad when it is time to go. Love,Di

Cathi: I hate cancer too and all that it does to my special friends. I never experienced a treatment that robbed me of my energy or hair, but I am so happy that you are feeling better. Hair or no hair you are still our Sweet Cathi whom we love. It will grow back and you will be better. Love and hugs, Candy

Dear Cathi, i am so sorry you are going through the big guns again. Losing my hair for the second time was the hardest and I do think there was some depression. I remember looking in the mirror and not even knowing who was looking back. I hope your doctor gets your meds right so you don't feel that way, it's hard enough anyhow. The third time we had a party and this stuff I've been on since November it never fell out. You are in my thoughts and prayers and hang tough. Love and hugs and prayers, Cyndy
