Having Biopsy done

hello ,
can u please tell me how long should one wait before getting a Biopsy done . i was told that i have 2 lumps in my right breast.on the 30 - May-2012 . Need to get one done but the date that i got is for 31 - July- as my Mother die form breast cancer i know it is not some thing to put of. can u tell if that date is OK or it needs to be done as soon as

In terms of breast cancer, 2 months is not a long time. It takes years for a lump to grow to the point where it can be seen on a mammogram, and years more before it can be felt as a lump. In terms of mental health, 2 months must seem like forever to wait, though! Hope you can get the date moved up... if for no other reason, you shouldn't have to wait two months to find out what this is.
