It was great!  We met at Islands in Glendale, after they had a day of shopping at the Galleria there.  Dummy me forgot my camera!!!  I was so mad at myself!  Rita took a couple of pictures with her camera phone.  It was great to share experiences in person.  I also chatted with Deb yesterday and between those two things, it helped my feelings of depression.  My DH finally realized just how helpful this board is to me and everyone that posts.  He had been a little skeptical.  He was asking questions, too, so that was good.  It was a fun time and I am so glad I met them both!  Rita, we must get together again soon.

I remember how much it helped me to have people out there to meet with.  Rita is a very special lady!  So glad you got to meet up!  Gail's a sweetie, too.  I remember Deb well, too.  Good for you, Kathy!  I'm glad your DH is getting into it,  mine never did, but that's okay.  The support from this board was very good for me.

I am so glad you had a wonderful meeting. I knew it would be, I have met Gail a couple of times and Rita I have talked to on the phone several times. They are both super ladies. I think it's great your husband understands now what the board does for you and all of us. It was a rather new concept when many of us started posting back in 1999. We met in 2000 for the first time and several family members came along with board members just to make sure internet friends were ok. Such a very special relationship we all have. Of course you know Annette and she was one of the first I met, when Jordan was just a little baby. By the way wonder what she is up to these days? Hope your doldrums are about over and you feel better each day. Hugs MK

Kathy- Sounds like a very special meeting, glad you could get some real hugs!!! Gail & Rita are THE BEST ! Tell your DH that the Pink Cloud Express is helping taking care of you now! Sometimes husbands don't really know how much we women NEED to TALK about this experience. and with each other, that is easier to do sometimes than with a spouse.

Hi Kathy! It sounds like you and your dh had a great evening with the gals. I am so glad that you got to meet them. I am glad that your dh now realizes how important it is for bc survivors to talk to each other and get support. I am sure that Gail and Rita made him realize that "we" are real persons. I can't believe that you forgot your camera. lol I believe that was the last thing that we talked about was your taking lots of pics and downloading them. Nice to know that someone besides me forgets important things.

Hope that your rad is going well and your skin is doing ok.

I just wanted to add my joy at getting to meet Kathy and her DH. What a wonderful evening that was. They are such a sweet couple. Gail and I had a blast. I would have posted sooner if we had been home at all. LOL

The wonderful women on this board have provided me with such wonderful experiences. I hope to meet you all at some point.

gee I can not figure out why your dh might be a little nervous. I mean hearing about ladies wearing pink boas and pink mucklucks and flying in imaginary planes, prancing down hospital halls banging on drums and a four legged stewardess? Geez I just can not understand why he would even pause for a minute, to let you wander off with ladies like this. tee hee, I think its wonderful you all got to meet and dh has finally realized we are here to help both of you I am so glad he is starting to understand there are somethings he just can not do for you. No one that has not had this disease can. But its nice to know he is there and he cares. L&H Joyce

Probably best that he didn't know, Kathy. Otherwise he probably never would have let you meet with us in the first place. LOL Some things are better left unsaid.
