Off to Minnesota

Well ladies, it's my turn to do some traveling.  DH and I leave tomorrow night for MN (Ely, to be exact) to visit my sister who lives there.  Many of my family from Ohio are coming, too.  We have rented a 3 bedroom/2 bath cabin.  It will be my other sister, her DH, my brother, his wife (Annette's sister), 2 nieces, and a great niece.  I am looking forward to it.  It's the first time I will see my family since all this started (except my one sister who visited me between surgeries).  I'm sure it will be somewhat emotional, but a lot of fun.  We have a great relationship, for which I am grateful.  I have prepared for my great niece to ask questions, which she already has, about my cancer and treatment.  I've taken my camera to rads to take pictures of the equipment so I can explain to her.  I'm sure the rest will be interested, too.  I doubt I will have access to a computer while gone, so I will think of you all and give you the details when I return (July 9). 

 

My rads onc said this is actually a good time to take a break, since my skin is getting red.  I will finish up and do the boosts when I get back.

Kathy: How exciting to have a family reunion. Hopefully the weather there will be better than it has been here in the good old Midwest! That was a great idea to take pic of the rad equipment. I wish I had thought of that for my granddaughter. It sounds as though you are both mentally and emotionally ready for the trip so have lots of fun! Guard that skin from the sun. Sunburn on top of radiation burn won't be fun.
