Hi there,
This is my first time on this forum (although a frequent visitor to the Prostate Cancer forum since DH was diagnosed last January...) So call me panicky, but with 2 children under 6, I'm not anxious for any added stress.
This week I found a horizontal, fixed, hard, bumpy lump in my right armpit (in the bottom where all diagrams appear to show that "tail" of breast tissue extends).
I am NOT a panicky person by nature, actually I'm quite cool under pressure---but this one has me VERY scared. I have no other symptoms, and no other lumps that I can detect. I know it is NOT a swollen lympnode,or infected cyst---have experience with those-- although I have begun a 2 week course of antibiotics that I have on hand (as I know that will be the Dr's first solution----remember I went through all of this last year with DH, so very familiar with the drill...)
Of course I have the entire armpit irritated from poking at it...no point telling me to stop... .
The main problem is that I am on vacation in Florida, and all the Urgent Care clinics I have contacted have told me that they can't send me for the probably needed MRI or US due to my being Canadian and having no primary dr here, and by the time I get lined up with one, I'll be gone back north---to the land of 9 month waits for scans.
Has anyone had anything similar that had a positive outcome other then BC....because I really can't imagine it could be anything other then that.
Thanks for listening:)
Ashley
