Hello,
I have my mommogram and ultrasound set for this Thursday the 19th and then the following Tuesday they are doing a needle biopsy. That was fast! I am glad I won't have to sweat it out for another 2 weeks. I do have a question my husband mentioned and when my doctor mentioned made me wonder. I have lost over 13 pounds in the last month. Not by choice, I have been so sick to my stomach. I can't seem to keep things down much lately and when I do manage to I end up with diarrea. The other thing I was wondering about was hairloss. Handfuls everytime I wash or brush my hair. Can cancer cause that? I feel silly for even asking but it has been on my mind lately.

Lots of things can cause those things. One thing I would check into is your thyroid. It could be hyperactive. When my thyroid first went out of wack it was hyperactive and I had hairloss, nausea and weight loss. That's pretty common with hyperactive thyroids. I would think that first. I don't think early breast cancer can cause hair loss at all. Another think to look at might be gallbladder - especially if when you do eat and it's at all fattening, it could giveyou diarrhea. That also happened to me. Geesh, I sound like I've got all the great diseases LOL. Good luck with all of your tests. I hope you can get good results and FAST. No fun waiting!!!

Melissa: I am so glad that your appts were arranged so quickly. You have one heck of a dr! I agree w/ what Laure said. My eldest dd had the same symptoms (no hair loss) and it took the wonderful (gag) drs in this town 14 days before they ran the test on her gallbladder. One other thing that might cause these symptoms is stress. Have you been under a lot of stress the past couple of months? Or have you started taking any new meds? Even some of the "natural" meds can cause problems.

I agree with the above and my first thought was stress and worry can certainly cause a lot of your symptoms. I know it is hard not to worry but it really doesn't help a thing. Thursday will be here before you know it and that will tell you something. but the biopsy is the real test. Just remember we are all here, been there, done that and we are holding out our arms with hugs, MK
