First the good news. Deb posted while I was out of town that I have a new great grand daughter. She lives only 3 miles from me, so I have been seeing her and her mom a lot while they are bonding this summer. She is so cuddly and sweet!! Holding her is next to heaven.
The not so good news is that my grandson, Christian, 14 and the trombone player, told his parents he had a lump on his thigh that had been there for quite some time. Over the last few weeks he has been to the family dr and had x-rays. The doctor thought it was an osteochondroma which is 99.9% benign. But even tho I preach not worrying until you know there is something to worry about, I was concerned because of the size of the thing. It fit the curve of my hand. Yesterday he had surgery to remove it and the surgeon said he still thought it was an osteocondroma BUT it had some strange characteristics. He said it could be an osteosarcoma, which is not benign. So we wait for the lab tests to come back. It was the size of a baseball, and the fact that it grew so big so fast is what keeps going through my mind as I try not to worry. I just wish Christian had mentioned it before, he says he knew it was there for maybe two years????? It did not hurt so he didn't mention it. That is one good thing, from what I have read, bone cancer hurts, so maybe that is a sign it is benign.
Add to that my mother in the nursing home, who I call every night. Sometimes her mind is spacey and worries me because she of course doesn't realize how spacey she has become. She knows her memory is not so good, but still thinks she should be living in her apartment and driving her car. I am going to see her the end of July.
Anyhow, I am still reading the board and checking several times a day. I just don't feel much like posting. I know you all will understand.
Hugs MK
