As a cancer survivor myself I’m really interested to watch this movie on Lifetime this Monday but I’m curious as to whether other people find it as touching or it is just another show on another channel?

Ok someone help me with this. Are my gray cells leading me astray? Gee....Like never happened before. lol I remember someone posting this same sentence a long time ago. Is this show a rerun or did we have one of our girls do that. You know I would remember this sentence. It shows the kind of feisty personality to deal with this surgery that I so appreciate. I see you are a new member, welcome and thanks for bringing this to our attention. It's so nice to have new helpful people sign on. This should get all the older members trying to remember, like I am ,if it was one of our posters or is it a show that ran before. Thanks again, Joyce

Joyce, I just saw an ad for this in People magazine, it is on tomorrow (23rd) on Lifetime. It was a book written by a young woman with BC and I guess they made it into a tv movie. I plan to watch it.

Each year, they have more and more commercial and corporate sponsors for the Awareness campaigns. More and more foods, items t-shirts, even tv shows. Grey's Anatomy addressed a 30-something mother of a baby getting a mastectomy and there were some pink ribbon logos scattered on the show (like a magnet on the fridge at the end). Bed Bath and Beyond has a whole cookware section now, pink bowls, appliances, pot holders...all with money going to the cause. Can't get enough donations!

Once again I was out of the loop and didn't have any idea what this was all about. This morning on the Today show they interviewed the author of the book and the actress who plays her in the movie. It sounds like it will be a good one. Sorry I did not catch either name but I liked the attitude and personality of the young woman who wrote the book. She was 27 when diagnosed. Hugs MK

I watched it last night and loved it. I'm not a breast cancer survivor; however, I am a cancer survivor. So I LOVE watching movies like this.

I liked it! Did anyone else watch it?
I think lifetime re-runs their movies on Thursday nights--hehe, can you tell I'm totally addicted to that channel?
I'd love to see what you ladies thought about it. :-)

I saw it and really liked it too. I think it is great that they have shows like that, it helps people to understand a little more of what it feels like to be told you have breast cancer or any type of cancer. The "was all the air just sucked out of the room" feeling. Definately a show worth watching!

I especially loved what the red lipstick represented for the main character.
It's not a somber movie either; obviously, the topic is sad, but it's a light hearted movie that will make you both cry and laugh. It's very good :-)

Im sorry to say I missed seeing Geralyn on the Today show and on 20/20 but I did get to watch the movie, and it looks like most of us had the same thoughts - it definitely showed how difficult it is when diagnosed and fighting breast cancer, but also showed that yes, life can go on.

As for the encore performance? I too am addicting - and I believe Saturday at 9 is the rerun! I highly recommend it for those who missed it this week.

Thanks for the update on the rerun......... I watched it last night and am so glad that I didn't miss it.
What a touching movie. Even after 22 years the feelings came right back to me watching her going thru her breast cancer story.

I shed some tears but it was worth watching.

Hugs to all of my breast cancer buddies here. Lord knows, we could use all the hugs we can get.

I was diagnosed with breast cancer earily this month and so far have little information as to what is going to happen.

I saw the commercials and all the hype about this movie, but didnt know if I should watch it or if it would just scare the daylights out of me more...I started watching it but then changed the channel...

It sounds like everyone here thought it was a good movie and maybe I should have watched it so I could have a better feel for what I might be facing.

Does anyone know if it will be airing again any time soon?

Ok, a little late here...I just watched this on the DVR. This story could have been about me. So much of what she went through from the "hey, what's this?" feeling the lump, to the terror at diagnosis after hearing "you're young and have no family history so it is probably nothing", chat rooms, noticing the skull and cross bones on the chemo bag, wanting to go to work to feel normal, looking with envy at the hair commercials....I guess it could have been any one of us. OK, I did not have wine during the duration of chemo...but this was well done. I found it to be accurate and inspiring and moving. Oh, and the part about losing her friends. Darn, the similarities.

Ok, I never wore red lipstick.

If you happen to catch it on again, it is worth the time to watch. Or have your loved ones watch it, it is great insight as to what we go through.
