After the biopsies

So, yesterday I had biopsies in both breasts and while the radiologist was quick to say that the left (calcification) looked perfectly fine, when asked his opinion on the right, he said it was "very suspicious" and then grabbed my hand and told me there were "great treatments" these days.  NEedless to say, I'm worried.  You all know so much more than I do, I was hoping for some insight. 

 

What's next if the biopsy is positive?  I know it depends on the type of tumor and maybe I'm jumping the gun, but for me it's easier to know the possibilities, and believe me, I know nothing.

Hi and welcome, sounds like you had an unexpected and abrupt entry to our club...sorry for what you are going through now. I do believe that this period of the unknown and waiting witll be THE single hardest time, and then once you have knowledge and a plan, you will regain control and will have the tools to fight. I am over 7 years out from diagnosis, found before I was 31, and my chances of "cure" are excellent. Chemo is very tolerable and was easier than I expected for me, but it impacts each of us differently. Radiation was a picnic compared to chemo, and who knows if you need either.
When will you know more? They will want to remove the tumor to get information tht will determine your treatment and surgery type, then you will be able to research and find what is right for you. Get lots of opinions, take a friend and a tape recorder to the next few doctors' appointments, and take time pamper yourself along this journey.
