Ruby, I am so sorry. I save this explanation and always mean to post it now and then to let all our new members know what PCE is all about. Please forgive me. It usually takes someone to ask before I remember I am over due to explain....at least as best as you can explain an imaginary pink plane. tee hee. PCE came about very slowly. We started out in a big pink bus. Now close your eyes and see that! Then it seemed like everyone was do at important things on the same day, and needed us. Now even my imagination will not enable a bus to get to the N. E., Texas, and Ohio all in a matter of one hour. I was about to scrap the whole thing because some thought it was silly. Then there was the post that changed my mind. We had one of our ladies tell us how she closed her eyes and imagined us all there and it helped so much. She did not feel alone and she was surrounded by people who had been there or were going to be. Another actually told the surgical team to watch out for us! They thought she was overdosed with the happy juice. Tee hee. This called for a little more thinking, now if you know me that is not my strong point. Took me a bit of thought and the next thing you know I decided there is only one way to get to all these places in a hour, and then only with imagination running the engine. That was how the Pink Cloud Express was born. Next came a chip in with imagination as to what we ate and wore. We even have instruments and march down the hall of the hospitals. The funniest thing was in LV Sara actually handed me a drum. That was when the whole group found out I had never touched a drum in my life except my sons, when I moved it to clean. But reality has nothing to do with our mission. We are there with what ever musical instrument you want to play or not, with our pink boots and boas and march into surgery to chase that "I am facing this alone" feeling away. That is why people who need PCE request during the week of need. Women work well under pressure. Give us to much time and we really do mess up. If I am not home, and do not answer one of the other ladies will usually take over. We have even had a four legged steward. Tavish was a huge help. Anyone that is a member can feel free to post any ideas and certainly to jump on board. New fliers have a membership dues to pay, when showing up for their first flight..Bet you can guess. A plane full of ladies........ LOL of course the answer could only be chocolate. tee hee. This can only be signed by the idiot known as Capt. Lemon..... May we welcome you aboard?
