hope all is going well.  Anthi, are you through with rads yet?  And Rubyshooz, how goes the battle for you?  I've been thinking about you two!  Check in occasionally, okay?

Hello Bev and everyone

Yes I've been intending to post but have been very busy recently and rather stressed. My Mom (94) has just gone into a retirement home. It was her own choice but she isn't settling down at all well and she's calling me several times every day (10 12 times daily) to complain. Plus there are calls from the home to report progress and calls from all her friends and neighbours each time they visit her ! It's been quite difficult to get much done over the past couple of weeks with this going on.

Yes I finished rads a couple of weeks ago. I was very red and sore at first and had a bad attack of prickly heat but it's gradually getting better. I'm still quite tired and if I sit down anywhere am quite likely to drop off to sleep. But I'm finding it very difficult to sleep at night !

I've had my third Herceptin today - still getting stiff joints from that plus some headaches. And I've just started Aromasin but it's too early to know if I'm going to get side effects with that.
It's a great feeling to have finished the main part of my treatment.

How is everything going for you Bev?

Oh, my goodness, the aging parent issue. My mom passed away when I was quite young, but my dad is gone now, and both of the in-laws. I still have my step-mom, but I can see that, while physically she keeps up with the best of them, she's not quite hitting on all sixes sometimes. She's about a 10-hour drive from here, but all the sibs are still within shouting distance for her. I feel like I don't do enough, though. I've been back to Missouri twice this summer for long weekends. My mothier-in-law was the most difficult. After the FIL passed away, she just quit taking care of herself. We brought her to live with us for about three years when she could just no longer be on her own. She wouldn't let anyone but me do anything for her. So I can definitely sympathize with you. It's as if the parent becomes the child.

I am doing well. Graduated from physical therapy (they even hummed pomp and circumstance for me). Got one graduated from college, and she's got a grad assistantship for the fall, so that is good. And the grandbaby will be starting kindergarten in the fall! Where does the time go!

I'm glad the biggest part of treatment is behind you. I was talking to a friend from work who was diagnosed a few years after I was, and she said she is still having bone and joint pain from the taxotere. I'm glad I didn't have that.

Well, good to hear from you. Keep us posted. We worry when we don't hear, you know!

Hi.

Thanks for thinking of me once again.  I've not been around anywhere actually except around my home with my family having come from all over the country to visit.  (Well, some from NM, some from OH and some from Rochester, NY. )   It was a pretty busy time with my husband taking the week off from work and all those people around.
