I am usually on the CD site but just the other day found a lump in my left breast.  Doctor got my right in and says it feels like a glandular hardening.  I am on prednisone for my CD and that my possibly be causing it.  I am schedueld for a mammo and u/s on the 27th to find out more specifics.  I have bc in my family although it is in my grandparents generation.  I am pretty scared that this will turn up bad as I already have tons of other health issues with Crohns Disease and Primary Sclerossing Cholangitis, arthritis (caused by CD) and I am only 31!  I also have a 5 year old daughter that has already endured so much of my poor health.  I know it is a waiting game but how do you cope with the wait and see anxiety?

I know exactly how you feel! The waiting is the hardest part when you want to know what's going on with your health! I found three lumps in my right breast back in May----but, they ended up being watery fluid cysts--however, I can't stop thinking about them----those lumps caused me extreme anxiety/panic----which has resulted in me going to see a GI specialist---but not until the END OF OCTOBER! The waiting game is so tough. Part of me tries to tell myself, "there is nothing you can do until you go and see the MD...." But, then I get pains (long story)---that I start feeling the worst about. I usually end of doing a lot of Praying, and talking myself through the frustration I feel having to wait so long!

I don't know if this helps--but know, others have the same "wait and see anxiety" like you do! God Bless!

Well I got the mammo done, all the techs were reluctant to actually do it because of my age (31) but after the u/s showed nothing after 2 people looked at it they decided to go ahead with the mammo. It also showed NOTHING. The lump is there but does not show on anything. They said not to worry, it was nothing but to call if any thing changed. Feel MUCH better now. Thanks for listening!

It is good news for sure. Now you also have had a mammogram which can be used as a baseline for comparison with future mammos. Take care and keep vigilent. Hugs MK

Did they say anything about glandular (dense) tissue? Is that what is being felt?
Keep an eye on the area and if it changes, call your dr back. I'm glad that you got good results, but do keep an eye on that area.
