Welcome, Rebabell, you didn't ask any questions, but I will offer that more than 75 percent of new breast cancer cases are in people with no family history. I was one of those in 1996. I don't mean to be an alarmist, but too often women pin their hopes of a benign diagnosis on having no family history. The fact is only a small percentage of new cases of breast cancer are in women with a family history.
It sounds like your medical team is just being thorough. That's good. If you need more information about mammograms try searching at www.imaginis.com. It's a good web site with reliable information. Good luck with your follow-up. If you have any questions that we can help with, don't hesitate to ask. Lauri (dxed 04/11/1996)
