I had a biopsy of R breast in May 07. The incision site didn't heal well and I am still dealing with the scar, with ointment for the icky scar. I have been feeling twangs for a few months, but about 10 days ago twangs turned into sharp, burning pain at the site. It is really getting bad, it kind of takes my breath away. Can anyone help me understand this? Its time [past time] for me to have a mammo, so I will be seeing someone new soon. Thank you for any thoughts or opinions you can share.

It could be nothing more than nerves healing, but to be on the safe side I would call the surgeon who did the biopsy. Could be that you are dealing with an infection especially if the incision has not healed well. It's best to find out what is going on. Lauri (dxed 04/11/1996)

Thanks! Thats a good idea. We moved to MN from FL, since he can't see me, should I still call? Or just find a gyn here and get on with it?

I would start with your former surgeon by phone, then follow up with your primary care physician in the Twin Cities. If you don't have one,send me an e-mail and maybe I can offer a few suggestions. I too am in the Twin Cities -- Minneapolis suburb on the north. Hugs, Lauri
