The hardest thing I have ever done was to quit smoking after 39+ years. I stopped after discovering smoking might cause tias and a blocked carotid. Just one angioplast is enough to set you straight.
I was a half-hearted quitter in the beginning. I kept a brand new pack in my purse "just in case I couldn't make it". I finally became serious several days later when I opened the pack, broke every one of them, and trashed them.
Around 7-8 days later, I could have killed anything that moved. MK suggested that I try nicotine gum and that's what saved me. I chewed so much of it that the inside of my mouth hurt from the nicotine. I used it longer than they say and when I left it, I went to regular chewing gum.
That was 3 years, 8 months, and 4 days ago. I almost beat my son (42) when I came out of my room last night and found him smoking a cigarette. We'll be having a discussion about that this evening.
HANG IN THERE !!!!! You CAN do it.
