Hello, everyone. I have this lump on my right breast. I had the mammogram and ultrasound and my doctor said that there's a very low chance that it's malignant. He didn't think biopsy is need. It hurts sometimes especially when I'm lying down. I'm deciding to have it removed nonetheless.

My concerns are after the surgery are 1. I work in a lab and have to lift boxes and grind hard samples constantly. How able would I be when I go back to work after the surgery? 2. What does the breast usually look like after the surgery? Will my breast tissues eventually fill out the space where the lump use to be? How does it feel after the surgery?

I appreciate any input. Thank you.

I had my biopsy on a Friday and went back to work on Monday. I had two lumps removed. They did incision at he edge of the areola, and by the time I had surgery a few weeks later, you couldn't tell where the surgery was done. If they take out much tissue, you may have a slight depression for awhile, but it eventually will fill in. I had another biopsy on my remaining breast a few years later. I have about a 1 1/2 inch scar from that one. I took Tylenol with codeine the day of the surgery. After that, didn't need anything. I had no restrictions on lifting. I work with infants and toddlers with disabilities, so I do quite a bit of lifting in my job... the babies don't weigh a lot, but those toddlers can pack on the pounds! LOL

I'm thinking that your Breast Lumps in the right may be cause by lifting heavy boxes and grind samples that you mention in your work.
Did try a second opinion for your concern.. Try to more opinion in other doctor to find out more about Breast Health, for your Breast lumps not to go surgery as your first mention it that is not prone to malignant.
