Pls explain my biopsy report:
"Core needle biopsy.
MICROSCOPIC EXAMINATION:
Malignant spindle cell tumor with the presence of atypical figures of differentiation
IHC: SMA +, S100 -, CALDESMON -, DESMINA -, CKAE1/3 -."

I'm not an expert on biopsy reports and terms. I do know that spindle cell tumors in the breast are pretty rare. The tumor is cancerous, obviously. The atypical differentiation can be an indicate how aggressive a tumor is, but not always. And all those acronyms are related to the immunohistochemistry of the tumor and presence of protein markers. Your doctor is the best one to interpret these results for you.
