I know we all still in shock at the loss of Becky and Connie, but I think we need some real hugs. Since a spring gathering got sidetracked, let's talk about October. How about the weekend of Oct. 7-9 or Oct. 16. I can do either one, but prefer the second date. I'm good with an Ohio location since it is pretty central for so many. Well, the 16th is my 67th birthday. I went to Pittsburgh last year to spend it with my mother and family, so I could certainly arrange to do that again and spend a couple of days with my breast friend sisters. I have no special dates for anytime, so whatever suits the most, suits me. Hugs MK

Where in OH? I'm not much for flying, and being an NJ person (I can now happily say that), I think I could drive there, passing through north of Pittsburgh to visit a dear friend in Clarion. I'd LOVE to meet all of you wonderful ladies. I couldn't have made it through the last month or two without all the wonderful support from so many, many of you! Dates are much of an issue.

Yes, Eastern Ohio is best for me, too.  I could take the Mustang.

Maybe we could ride together - I love Mustangs! Maybe we could get a road trip going with other gals from NJ! If needed, I could also drive my gas-guzzling SUV. Right now I'm having visions of "Thelma & Louise" only with a different ending, well, and different other parts as well. Pure fun! LOL

LOL I can picture Thelma and Louise. How funny. Eastern OH is doable, Northern OH is doable. Now all we need to do is find a good date that suits most everyone. Hugs. MK

Got Paul McCartney tickets for Oct 14...paid too much for the cheap seats....perhaps the first weekend??

Ohhhh, Paul McCartney sounds wonderful, Lori. I wouldn't want to miss out on that either. Is everyone OK with Oct. 7-9??? MK, can you celebrate that birthday a week early?? Just got home.Wow, Paul McCartney! I got to see the Beatles in 1964 or 1965. Paul is still a favorite of mine. After ****, of course.
I would love to do an October trip. My Mom's birthday of Oct. 14 th so any other weekend would probably be better.

I'm good with either, I guess. Don't know the schedule for the next school year yet. So I'm planning to come, and they can just do without me for a few days. I met the Beatles in 1966. And believe me when I tell you that Paul is every bit as sweet as he appears to be. Have a great time, Lori! I'm so envious!!!!!

If it is the Oct. 16th weekend and Ellen is willing to take me with her, I'm in. I'm not much for driving by myself. Would love to meet everyone

Looks like a full car for me!!!  I know you ladies are corageous, but this is the limit!!!!!  LOL

 

Vicky can let ya'll know how I drive when we go to the thing on June 2.  Maybe I can get an invite for you, Laure'.  interested???  It's a luncheon for survivors being given at Beth Israel.  If so, Vicky can call them and invite herself, because she is eligible, and I can bring you as my guest, and we can go together.

 

re.  Ohio:  The first weekend is worse for me, it's DH's birthday, and he'll be having a cow that I'm, so it's best that I be there for his birthday.  The latter weekends are better. 

 

Lori:  I can't believe you got tickets!!!  I would love love love to see him, but this year I need to conserve the green stuff.  Too much fun this year!!!  To be honest, I'm still hurting that he picked someone else besides me when we lost our dear Linda!!!!!  I had hope for a while.....LOL

 

OK, let me know and I'll be there, hopefully I won't be packing a divorce.....LOL?  Hey, when I went to Louisville, we were richer when I came back, through an inheritance, maybe I can twist that to make it justifiable to him.  Probably not.  Either way, I'm there.

Here I am!  October can work for me.  The weekend of the 7-9 works best for me.  But I could make it work however it turns out.  Are we ready to post a poll for which weekend?

I'll get hotel info as soon as a date is selected.  Are we still wanting the Embassy Suites downtown Cleveland?

I'm anxious for this to happen and to meet everyone!

I might be able to do June 2, and I hope so because it sounds great! Thanks for thinking of me! I just have to get a sitter, since I homeschool the boys. Maybe DH will come home or I might be able to get the Youth Minister at our church. Are you coming down from the Catskills? Or will you be in Port J? I heard Port J has a great boutique and thought I'd head there in the next few weeks after this surgery is behind me.

Mia, It sounds like we have a date. Oct. 7-9. It works for those who have already posted. I would bypass a poll and let's just go for it!!! Embassy Suites sounds very nice. See what kind of a deal they will cut us for a block of rooms. At this point it is hard to estimate how many, but I would guess 15 to 20 depending on how many gals want to "double bunk" (share a suite). It is too bad the spring gathering didn't work out, but October will be special since it is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Might be a good idea to clue the local newspaper into the fact that we will be there, too. They might want to do a news story on us. It has happened before. Just a recap...  The first weekend is not good for Vicky or myself.  Vicky can't and I probably can't.  Can anyone do the third weekend?????

I will make any weekend but Oct. 1-3 work. I am trying to organize a Celebrate Life luncheon event for Oct. 2 for all women cancer survivors. I've been mulling this idea over for some time and finally decided to give it a try this year. There are five weekends in October: 7-9, 14-16, 21-23, and 28-29. Lori can't do the 14-16. Ellen and Vicky can't do 7-9. Anyone have problems with 21-23? Mai, maybe we do need a poll. I know that we will never get a weekend that works for everyone, so we just have to go with one that works for most of us. Lauri

I am really hoping to make it! I hope we decide on a date soon, and find out the price of the hotel. I know Rita, Diane and I want to share a room so far, if we can all make it. The more the merrier! That will help with the cost a lot. The fact I live in a small town area makes that darn airfair so much higher. And I will NOT, EVER, fly through Chicago ORD again! So I am already doing searches on flights to avoid that, LOL! Hope to get a definate soon. Can't wait to see all my good friends! I more that need it! L&H, Gail

Gail, check Continental...they have a hub in Cleveland. Northwest goes through Detroit....
