I haven't posted in a while. It's been rather busy lately. I barely have time to even read some of your posts.
My class is going well. I've been applying for new jobs and have one in the works that I hope happens. It is so perfect! It is a position as Office Assistant in the Radiology Dept. at Kaiser Permanente. It's a temp position for 3 months and pays more than what I make where I'm at now. It's perfect because of 2 things - 1) after the 3 months term, I may need to be not working for about 6 weeks to take a class, 2) this facility is one of the ones used in the Rad Tech program I will be applying for. This way, if I get the job, I can get to know the people ahead of time and see how the dept. works. Keep your fingers crossed for me.
So far, I haven't had any side effects from Tamoxifen. I will be having my mammogram on my remaining breast this Tuesday. I got a referral from my PCP for a plastic surgeon to get reconstruction. At first, I didn't want to do this, but now I do. I just can't imagine wearing this big, heavy prosthesis for the rest of my life.
I've started walking and eating better. As a result, I've lost some weight. I really enjoy the walking, because I have a different attitude about it. It's a health issue now, not just because I'm fat.
That's it for now. I will try to be around more often.
