call back after mammo

Hello...I am new to this site. I just received a call back for more pictures from a mammogram..the person calling said that at it didn't say they see any masses or cysts but they just need more pictures. I have very dense breast tissue and also fibroids on the right breast. They have me scheduled for a come back on April 20...I am so scared that I had my gynecologist call and see if we could get it any sooner..they moved it up to April 15. They tried to reassure me it to be alarmed that it was common. Is it a good sign that they are waiting a month to have me come back??

I have not had breast cancer but a few years ago I had a mammogram and was also called back for more views because of denseness and fibroids. After they did a small biopsy to rule out any cancer, they just told me not to drink a lot of caffeinated beverages and that was that. I hope it all goes well for you, too. I know you're concerned but I'm glad you're in touch with your doctor's office now. Good luck!

Congratulations on your clean bill of health after the surgery last year! I hope this continues! And for the mammo callback, I'm glad they are being cautious and thorough even though I know it's nerve-wracking.

I have been in that position a time or two myself. I have very dense breasts and many calcifications. From what I understand, calcifications are very common. I was concerned also but all was benign. I will be looking forward to sharing the good news with you on April 15.

I have had those extra films and while uncomfortable not a big deal. I too have very dense breast tissue. The better the picture they can obtain they better it will be for you down the road if anything changes.
