Call back for biopsy 3 weeks away.. kinda freaking out!

Hi this is my 1st post here. I was diagnosed wit fibroadenoma when i was 19 (i am 45 now) had one removed as it was large, the other was left and has never changed in 25 years. This year at my regular check up (because of the FB) they found something new.. it's .7mm .. def not the old lump. They didn't see it at 1st then called me back a week later for follow up 3D mammogram and then another ultrasound. Now i have to go for a core needle biopsy.. but i have heard they are unreliable. I live in Canada, so i don't have insurance worries, but i have to wait 3 weeks for the biopsy.. also they said i cant switch clinics to get in anywhere else faster cos they would need to re-do all the tests.. how is that possible in a digital age? i have other anxiety disorders that in the past have presented as chest pain and asthma like symptoms. not sure how i will make it through 3 weeks, plus another one for the report.. i know that a lot of lumps aren't cancerous.(hell i HAVE one!). but i'm kinda freaking out.. any advice taken .

had the Core Needle Biopsy one week ago today (10th Feb) - still waiting for the results.. will def post either with joy or distress when i get them! My cat has been very sick this week as well, which was an unwanted and expensive though useful distraction!

so kinda funny (no funny haha) story. I decided to call the clinic that did the biopsy to see th approx date of the results. They said "oh we sent them last week to Dr XXXX" which was interesting as a)that wasn't the right Dr and b) no-one had called me to tell me such. They apologized and offered to fax them to the correct Dr ASAP, but in the interim, i called the Dr they DID advise (my old Dr, whose practice moved) and they said they didn't HAVE all the results, which was why i hadn't been called. When i called the lab back, they said, Nope they definitely have them, but we will send them again if you like.
I decided to just go up to the new Dr's on the off chance that she could see me today. She was booked up but the reception staff confirmed they did have the results sent over today, and the Dr would look at them ASAP. She did, and sent a message back saying "no rush, come in in the next few days" .. soooo i have an appointment for 1015am tomorrow.. can i assume if they aren't in a rush i am not going to need further surgery?
Whatever, i guess i will know tomorrow morning. I will certainly post when i get the results, but i have to admit, knowing i should have had this info on Monday is a little galling! (oh and Leo has been cleared of all "serious" issues, he has the equivalent of IBS in humans.. lots of throwing up until we find food that agrees with him!! :()

Wow that whole thing is just so messed up about the results. It's good that you called or you would still be waiting.

I would be raising Heck about not sure about getting the mass? Isn't that why you had this procedure done. Someone needs to get reamed about it.

A second opinion is a good idea. Good luck! Praying you get in soon and all is well. Keep me posted.

It would make more sense to do a bigger biopsy if what your going to take out isn't going to be enough. Seems silly. My fibroadenoma ended up not doing anything luckily. I did have to go back for a couple more ultrasounds to make sure it didn't grow. It hasn't which I'm glad of because mine is so far in I never felt it. I can't imagine that would be fun to take out.
